How to Control Who Sees Your Activity Feed In LinkedIn

Although Linkedin is great for networking and keeping in touch with business contacts, sometimes you want to keep your activity private. If you want to keep some control over who sees what you’re up to, there is a simple way to change the settings for your activity feed on Linkedin.

Login to your Linkedin account on a mobile or desktop browser.

Click on your profile picture and select ‘settings and privacy’.

You will be on the main settings screen which has 4 tabs across the top. Select the ‘privacy’ tab.

You will see an option for ‘How Others See Your Linkedin Activity’. Under this subheading you’ll see various options such as:

  • Manage Active Mode: Choosing who can see if you’re online or stay hidden.
  • Sharing Profile Edits: Letting people know that you’ve edited an aspect of your Linkedin.
  • Notifying Connections When You’re In the News and Mentions by Others: Both of which share a post if your name is mentioned in a feed.

You can change the settings for each of these to keep your activity private. Once you’re finished updating your settings, click close and the changes will be saved.

If you wish to use a more private network and powerful contacts app, try out Covve (available in App Store and Google Play store).
