Rachel Rozen’s 3P’s for Connection

In the pursuit of meaningful professional relationships, Rachel Rozen brings a refreshing perspective to networking. As a networking coach and founder of Connection Catalyst, she transforms what many perceive as “icky” networking into “sticky” relationships that last. Drawing from her own journey of connecting with 300 individuals in a year, she empowers individuals and teams to build authentic connections that foster collaboration and workplace satisfaction.

Her contribution to our online masterclass, A Joyful Masterclass for Connection Professionals, introduced participants to a simple and deep approach: the 3P’s for Connection. It aimed to help attendees explore deeper layers of connection by focusing on three key areas: Passion, Personal experiences, and Problem-solving.

The 3P’s Approach

The 3P’s method is designed to foster vulnerability, trust, and meaningful engagement in professional settings. The exercise encouraged participants to reflect and share in a structured yet organic manner, enhancing their ability to form connections that go beyond surface-level interactions.

  • Passion: Participants were invited to share something they are deeply passionate about. Whether it’s a hobby, cause, or professional goal, speaking about passion brings authenticity to conversations and sparks genuine interest.
  • Personal: Attendees reflected on life experiences that have shaped them, offering a glimpse into their journeys and values. This aspect created a sense of shared understanding and empathy.
  • Problem: Lastly, participants identified a challenge they were facing and the kind of support they needed. By doing so, they opened the door for collaboration, advice, and new perspectives.

Bringing the 3P’s into Practice

Rachel guided participants through the activity in pairs, where they took turns sharing and listening. This practical exercise allowed individuals to engage more deeply, improving their ability to connect with others in both professional and personal settings.

To practice the 3P’s approach beyond the masterclass, she encouraged participants to:

  • Incorporate the method in one-on-one conversations.
  • Use it as an icebreaker in team meetings or networking events.
  • Approach interactions with curiosity and a willingness to support others.

By applying the 3P’s, individuals can turn routine interactions into opportunities for collaboration and meaningful relationship-building.

Rachel’s activity provided participants with actionable tools to transform networking into an opportunity for genuine connection. Her unique approach, rooted in authenticity and empathy, left attendees inspired to rethink their approach to professional relationships. As a former Chief Customer Officer turned networking coach, Rachel continues to redefine how individuals approach connection – one meaningful conversation at a time.
